    Cranberry Pomegranate Cocktail

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This festive ruby-hued pomegranate cranberry cocktail is made with sweet-tart cranberry syrup, pomegranate juice, orange liqueur, and sparkling wine. It's perfect for holiday parties and celebrating with friends.

I'll be the first to admit that this cranberry pomegranate Prosecco cocktail really doesn't have anything to do with camping or grilling. (A hot apple cider cocktail might be better suited to that.) And while I definitely don't suggest you take your crystal champagne flutes on your next trip, if you want to tuck a bottle of sparkling wine in the cooler and whip up a batch of cranberry syrup (it's great for hot drinks and pancakes, too!), I'm sure you'll find others at the campground who'd love to celebrate any occasion with you. I certainly would.

    Why You'll Love This Recipe

    • You can easily scale the cranberry cocktail recipe for as many drinks as you need to make.
    • It's very easy to make, and can be partially prepared ahead of time, making it perfect for your holiday cocktail party.
    • You can adapt it to be alcohol-free, if you like.

    Ingredients and Substitutions

Ingredients for cranberry pomegranate cocktail--cranberry syrup, Grand Marnier, pomegranate juice, and Prosecco.
    • Cranberry syrup--The homemade cranberry syrup adds lovely color and a slightly tart sweetness to the drink. You can substitute regular simple syrup, if you prefer.
    • Grand Marnier--You can use any orange liqueur.
    • Pomegranate juice--I love the tartness of 100% pomegranate juice in this cocktail, but feel free to play around with juice blends, such as pomegranate-cranberry.
    • Prosecco--You can use any sparkling wine here, but I recommend choosing one that is dry. Sweet wines will make the cocktail overly sweet.

    Important Steps

Two champagne flutes with dark red liquid inside them and three empty glass bowls nearby.
Prosecco being poured into a champagne flute.
    1. Divide the pomegranate juice, cranberry syrup, and Grand Marnier between two flutes.
    2. Top with Prosecco and serve immediately.

    FAQs

Can I make this into a pomegranate cranberry mocktail?

Definitely. Use orange juice in place of the Grand Marnier and top with ginger ale or club soda instead of sparkling wine.

Can I make this cocktail in a large-batch for a party?

Yes. Scale the recipe as many times as necessary to fill your pitcher or punch bowl. You can combine the cranberry syrup, pomegranate juice, and orange liqueur up to an hour before serving, but top with the Prosecco or sparkling wine just before you plan to serve it. When calculating how much you'll need to scale the recipe, keep in mind that a single recipe makes about 1 cup.

    Tips and Troubleshooting

    • You can combine the syrup, juice, and liqueur up to an hour ahead of time, but add the chilled sparkling wine just before serving.
