This easy homemade bbq sauce transforms sweet summer peaches into a grilling staple. A little bit of serrano pepper and bourbon give it a pleasant kick.
3mediumpeaches peeled and diced (about 2 cups or 1 lb)
½serrano pepperseeded and diced
½cuplight brown sugar
¼cupapple cider vinegar
3tablespoonsbourbon
1tablespoonDijon mustard
1tablespoonWorcestershire sauce
1teaspoonsmoked paprika
¼teaspoonsalt
Instructions
Combine all of the ingredients in a medium saucepan.
Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer until the peaches are very soft, about 15 minutes.
Carefully transfer the contents of the saucepan to a high speed blender. Blitz until smooth.
Transfer the sauce to a sealed container or jar and cool completely before refrigerating. Use within 2 weeks or freeze for longer storage.
Notes
Adjust the consistency--If your sauce is too thick after blending, drizzle in a little water until it reaches your desired consistency. If it's too thin, simmer it over medium-low heat until it reduces and thickens.
