Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups pomegranate juice
  • 1 large orange halved
  • 10 cloves
  • 6 star anise
  • 2 cinnamon sticks

Instructions
 

  • Combine the juice, halved orange, and spices in a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce the heat to maintain a simmer.
  • Simmer, partially covered, for 30 minutes. Strain the mixture into two mugs, discarding the orange and spices. Serve hot.

Notes

  • If you don't have a strainer, tie the spices together in a piece of cheesecloth for easy removal.
  • Leftover mulled juice can be stored in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Strain the juice before storing.
  • This recipe is suitable for gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan diets.
