Place the cherries in a medium bowl and sprinkle with the sugar. Toss well to combine and let the cherries sit at room temperature until they release some juices, about 15 minutes.
Spoon ¼ cup yogurt into the bottom of each jar or serving dish.
Top with ¼ cup granola, followed by another ¼ cup of the cherries and their juices.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon over the top of each parfait. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 48 hours.
