Powdered sugar and maple syrupfor serving (optional)
Instructions
Whisk the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt together in a measuring jug.
Place the sliced cinnamon rolls in a single layer in a baking dish and pour the egg custard over the top. Flip the rolls to make sure they're fully coated, then let them soak for 15 minutes.
Heat your griddle to medium. Add the butter and let it melt.
Remove each piece of roll from the custard, letting any excess drip back into the dish and place it on the griddle. Cook, flipping once, until golden and crispy on the outside, about 4 minutes per side.
Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, and serve with maple syrup, if using.
Notes
Cooking time--Very large cinnamon rolls (more than 3 inches tall) may take longer to cook.
Storage--These are best enjoyed as soon as they are made. I don't recommend storing or reheating them.
