Campfire Chocolate Fondue

Ingredients
  

  • cup whipping cream
  • 3 ½ ounces (100 g) milk chocolate broken into small pieces (1 bar)
  • 3 ½ ounces (100 g) dark chocolate broken into small pieces (1 bar)
  • Fresh fruit, marshmallows, and/or graham crackers for dipping

Instructions
 

  • Prepare hot coals in a campfire.
  • When the coals are hot, fill a saucepan with about 1 inch of water. Set it over the hot coals and bring to a simmer. Alternatively, you can do this on your camp stove over medium-low heat.
  • Combine the cream and both types of chocolate in a medium bowl.
  • Set the bowl over the pot of simmering water and let it heat, stirring frequently, until the chocolate is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Serve immediately. with your favorite dippers.

Notes

  • Storage and reheating--If you've got leftover chocolate fondue (unlikely, I know!), cover it and store in your cooler or fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat over a pot of simmering water, stirring frequently, until smooth and melted.
  • Dietary--This recipe is suitable for gluten-free diets.
